DYING LIGHT REVIEW

The word "Zombie" is quit thrown around in today's culture with tv shows and in video games. Zombie games have hit the video game consoles that you just can't ignore.Zombies have shown up in first person shooter games such as the "Call Of Duty" franchise and third person games such as "Dead Rising". You also can't forget the "Resident Evil franchise as well. Then comes the "Dead Island" first person zombie game where you battle a ongoing onslaught of zombies coming at you as you try to get off of the island.

With the next gen consoles at our finger tips now comes "Dying Light". Dying Light is a first person survival horror game set in open world environment. Players take on the role as Kyle Crane a undercover operative who is sent to the fictional city of "Harran." The city is under quarantine from a outbreak and Kyle is sent in to track down Rais who has information on the agency Kyle works for.Kyle must fight his way through the zombie infected city with whatever tools he can use to survive. Along the way Kyle meets survivors who he does small task for in return Kyle gets XP Points to unlock skills that will help Kyle survive in the city.

Dying Light is set up with a XP given to Kyle to unlock skill sets as you progress though out the game. Kyle can unlock skill such as lock picking so he can get into locked boxes or doors that require that skill. Kyle can also gain XP to perform moves to avoid the undead as he travels through out the city. Dropkick,Tackle and vault are perks that Kyle needs when in tight corners from hordes of the undead. Kyle can use the streets but not recommended too much as you push and fight through zombies that walk among the streets. Kyle can use roof tops to travel around the city as your able to climb just about anything in the environment provided. The real fun happens at night as different types of Zombies will pop out and make it more of a diverse game play at night.Get to the light to fight off the undead with safe zones that are lite up.

The weapon system is just like "Dead Island" as the more you use your weapons, your weapons wear out and need repairs. Just like "Dead Island" players can find blueprints and make weapons like a flaming hand knife that sets the undead on fire with each swipe. A electric steel pipe can send the undead shocking to the grave too. Players can pick up just almost about anything to use to fight the undead.

Multiplayer

Besides playing alone other players can also join in on the fun.You can invite up to four of your friends to help you with the undead.I can say that it is fun with having more people in your game because you can help each other out with killing zombies. I have a couple of my friends join me as we went through out the city and ganged up on zombies and beat them down. With the more people in your game other players can help you with the drop zone pick ups that you can go and grab while fighting off other survivors or zombies.

Be The Zombie

Players can enter the mode of being a "Zombie" where you can enter others game as a zombie and try to take them out.So far this has happen twice with me and my friends. You can tell that another person has entered your game as they are faster then the other zombies and try with all there force to try and take you out.It is fun and I have not tried this yet which I will because I think it adds a nice new play for Dying Light.

Dying Light was developed by Techland who split from publisher Deep Silver makers of "Dead Island" after creative differences and broke off to create "Dying Light." That is why with Dying Light we have some of the stimulates of "Dead Island." Techland had made a fantastic game with a impressive visual environment that players can use how they see fit.

If you are looking for a game with free roaming and herds of zombies then Dying Light is the game for you.I recomend Dying Light this week as my game of the week.
