SUNDAY BLOGDAY : ARROW/FLASH TV SHOW

This will be a new start of a new blog post that I want to start each week on Sunday's. There is "Fun Day Sunday," why the hell not start Sunday Blogday? This blog post each week will consist of what I've been watching or what I've been listening to and so fourth. So lets kick this off and jump straight into what I've been really watching as of late.

ARROW/FLASH TV SHOW

When Arrow premiered on The CW network I had to check out what they were going to do with DC's Green Arrow. I was happy with how The Green Arrow was per-traded on Smallville a few years back. When I heard they were going to give this character his own show I had to check it out and see if this would be a hit or miss for me. If the bottom of the latter was a miss I could always go back to my Smallville DVD collection of all ten seasons I have an remember how the Green Arrow would forever be. After watch the first few episodes of the first season I was hooked.

I loved in the first season how Oliver Queen was dark at times with still on his own one man mission to clean up Star City and do the wrongs of his father. I was impressed with how Arrow took cheesy comic book villains and turned them into bad ass pissed off persona's. I liked the flash backs that showed how Oliver tried to survive on an isolated island from a ship wreak for five years. I like how it builds to what is happening in the present moment on how he dealt with what bad guy he was up against or how to help the ones around him. This still goes on from back and fourth in it's fourth season. To me it don't look like Arrow will be slowing down anytime soon.

With Oliver Queen battling the likes of major villains and trying to maintain his sanity with all around him, he does find time for some romance with Felicity and letting people in must really hit hard with someone who just wants to see the light of day for a city that is crime free from all of those who think they can just roll up in his city and make it there playground are in store when the Green Arrow stops there plans of taking over.

Each season so far has shown Oliver Queen evolve as well as the supporting cast become more then just a stand in to help with a punch or kick to the bad guys when the going gets tough. I love how each character has there moment in the bliss of Oliver and how he is learning that it's not bad to have someone watching your back. I am looking forward to seeing where the story will go when the set up for the next spin off takes off. I think Oliver will have his match this season with Damion Dark as he has so far not faced a foe like him. Green Arrow will come out on top as always but seeing the journey is the fun part taking in the good and the bad that happen to defeat the greater bad and have the greater good come out on top. Unless they leave it on a cliff hanger then I'll just count down the days for when it comes back on and see what happens next.

THE FLASH

When they introduced Barry Alen who becomes The Flash, I was exited to see that Arrow will finally get it's own spin-off. I didn't know how they could pull off a show with The Flash coming out of the dark world of Arrow. After watching the first few episodes of the first season I knew that they would have to go this route with The Flash, why would they not?

What I'm talking about is how The Flash's Barry Allen is light hearted with being given powers to do right for his city. Barry is opisite of Oliver Queen's dark persona on Arrow with Barry's clean cut do what is best. Now there was times where Barry wasn't or had any problems getting his hand dirty with what was going on with The Reverse Flash to trying to clear his dad of a crime he did not comment. Barry's romance is more of a puppy love for Iris then of Qliver Queen's lust of I must have with Felicity on Arrow.

On The Flash they didn't waste anytime with having Iris find out that Barry was The Flash unlike waiting for Lana Lang to find out Clark Kent on Smalliville's sixth season that he had powers. I like the build up then just going with yes I have powers and I'm The Flash. I know it took to about the second season for Laural to find out Oliver was the Arrow. With Barry going back and fourth on how he feels with Iris he makes time with his team to take out bad guys and find out the darker truth behind what went down on season one of The Flash.

Now with season two underway it looks like they are taking a dip here and there for some tid bits of dark happenings on the show. I love how Barry is growing into being The Flash with learning new ways for his powers. Barry tried out some things with this season's villain Zoom. This will be a challenge for him to take out someone who moves a little bit faster then him. Looking forward with this story line for the season and how the cross over with The Flash and Arrow sets up the next spin-off called Legends Of Tomorrow.

Take supporting heroes and villains from both Arrow and The Flash and throw them together and what do you get? You get Legends Of Tomorrow. This will be interesting seeing how this group will work together on being the heroes that will be talked about in the future as they take there course of action and stop whatever evil lurks towards them.

My favorite supporting characters from Arrow and The Flash as well as my favorite villains from The Flash team up in a new series looks awesome. Look forward to seeing this later next year.

BOTTOM LINE

I enjoy watching both these shows each week when they come on and will be watching Legends Of Tomorrow next year. For quit sometime I stopped watching Arrow when it got to it's mid-season point back in season two and never could get caught up. Thank god that netflix put up Arrow and The Flash as I jumped back in and got caught up and now glad that I did. If you haven't seen or you are looking for something new to watch then I suggest that you give this a try, you will not be disappointed with two good shows with good leads and a good supporting cast that makes the middle of the week worth wild.

If you haven't picked up Arrow season 1-3 or The Flash season 1, then get them here.

IT'S BEEN AWHILE NOW UPDATE

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

That is a good question as of late, where the hell have I been? I've dropped off the radar in the last few weeks. Yeah, I haven't tweeted or posted or done a new podcast in the last few weeks with all that has been going on with me. I even haven't posted or wrote an article up on Irrelevant Gamer's website either.I've talked with Gabe and texted with him as of late.Gabe has been taking it easy like I have but I have more on me as of right now.

FIRST OFF:

My mind is all over the place with last week after planing a good three day weekend off to play some Destiny on my PS4.My wife finally has her PS4 and we planed this big three day weekend to kick back and play the hell out of that game.We did get to play some but,not like we wanted to.My wife found out at the begining of the week she is pregnant.I happy to say I will be a dad and she is expected or due,how ever you want to call it sometime in April or May of next year. With that we rushed to the doc's to find out how along she is and how the baby is.That kind of killed most of the days we had plan with going to the doctor and coming back and going back the following day and with her being tired we did get to play some.I had this big podcast I was planing to do sometime in those days to talk about the new DLC for Destiny and me being a father, that didn't happen.

SECOND:

With all mention above I was in or still am making plans on some changes to my website and to this blog as well.I went out in Daytona Beach a couple of nights during the three days off to find local talent in the comedy circle to see if anyone wanted to get into podcasting and be my co-host.I didn't get to find anyone and I still am looking for someone to join me on my podcast and if you or know anyone that wants to get into what I do or if you do then contact me on my website,

WEBSITE everettshangout.com

FACEBOOK facebook.com/everettshangout

TWITTER twitter.com/denver_everett

Since I'm talking about my podcast I want to announce that Everett's Hangout Podcast will be coming to an end.I know after reading that sentence with some jaws dropping why do I still need a co-host as I mention above?Everett's Hangout is not ending but turning into a network. The name of the new podcast and feel and with a filter removed is coming.Just wait and see.Everett's Hangout as of today is a production that I want to start with finding fresh and new podcasters that are looking to get out one way or another.I feel like General Zod from Superman with his hand extended out saying,"Join Me."

I had to throw out the Zod reference just for a kick. You don't have to knell before me,lol.

LAST AND FOREMOST:

In the next couple of weeks I will be wrapping up Everett's Hangout Podcast before I launch the new Podcast.I am looking at a couple of things for the final wrap.I don't know where or how it will end but with all things in this life, you have a start and finish.Starting off is hard but ending it is even harder because you don't want it to end when you are having fun.

check back to this blog or hit up the site for new updates.

Have an awesome day and will talk to you later.

MAD MAX:FURY ROAD REVIEW

MAD MAX:FURY ROAD

Over the weekend I had the privilege to finally watch Mad Max:Fury Road staring Tom Hardy(Max),Charlize Theron(Imperator Furiosa),Nicholas Hoult(Nux)and Hugh Keays-Byrne(Immortan Joe). I've been a fan of the original Mad Max staring Mel Gibson back in the day. I would have to say out of the Original Mad Max trilogy it would have to be Beyond ThunderDome would be my favorite one. After hearing about George Miller creating another Mad Max I was excited by the fact he did the original and knew with his touch to a new Mad Max I wouldn't be disappointed by how Hollywood has ruined quite a bit of films with remaking them.I thought that Mad Max was going to be a Reboot but, I was wrong.

A NEW MAD MAX

In some ways this Mad Max is kind of a reboot with Tom Hardy playing Mad Max.Tom Hardy brought some elements of Mel Gibson's Mad Max into the fold with his own touch of playing an iconic character.I enjoyed Tom Hardy in (Warrior) and in (Bronson). I knew Tom was going to deliver a fresh take with how Max is still hurting from the lost of his wife and child that haunt him in his subconscious mind.Max is trying to survive in a post apocalypse wasteland while running away from the pain he endures.

You see Max through out the film with visions of his child and wife come haunting him in moments in the film are too much for Max.You see this after Max is attacked during the beginning of the film as he is trying to escape the clutches of the pale while group of people that hunt down others and take them to use their blood as living blood bags to survive. This group is lead by Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe.

Immortan Joe is the strong hold leader in the part of the wasteland on top of the giant mountain tops. At the top of the mountain tops Joe has grown food and other resources to survive. One thing that is valuable is water.Hundreds of people wait at the bottom for Joe to release gallons of water so they can have some to drink. The people look up to Joe as a god in some ways. But,with that said Joe is only looking out for himself and the ones that follow him close.Joe has also something that is far more of value to him as he tries to rule over and survive, his wives or girlfriends.

GAME CHANGER

Furiosa is tasked with bringing back another valuable resource in the wastelands, gasoline.Furiosa played by Charlize Theron sees the real threat of Joe and takes a detour route with a tanker off path with her own plans and makes a run for it far away with the girlfriends or wives of Joe.Charlize did good playing the role of Furiosa bringing the tough female lead that is more of a stand out in the film.Max gets thrown into the mix by Nux played by Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies),(X-Men:First Class) and is taken by him on the road with Joe and a convoy that chases Furiosa through the wastelands trying to get back the tanker.Max is hung up as a living blood bad in front of a car driven by Hux which is in a way a WTF moment of the film for me.

THE TONE IS SET

The race is on with Joe chasing down his tanker along the wastelands as Max is pretty much along for the ride.Max does get loose after one of the best looking special effect sand storms comes along and messes everything up for Hux as he gets close to Furiosa and the tanker. This gives Max the time to break away and catches up with Furiosa and her tanker to see what is really going on.Again,Max is just trying to get away and he really don't care about Furiosa's mission or plans to get away from Joe.

In Mad Max:Fury Road just like the title says it,most of the film or should I say quit a bit of the film is based on road action. This film has some of the best action sequences with cars slamming into one another as they battle down the road.Parts of the film does slow down a bit or two with giving little character points with the supporting cast carrying the movie.Like I said before Max is just along for the ride as he must make a decision on weather or not to help Furiosa with her mission or just tag along for the ride and break off when he gets the opportunity and go about his own business of running from a past that haunts him.

Max doesn't speak much throughout the film and he doesn't even tell Furiosa his name while he is with her while Nux joins Max as well along for the ride.Nux was an interesting character for me in the film.I think Nicholas Hoult did a good job playing a crazy at times character as he must make a decision on if he should be loyal to Joe or befriend Max on his journey. With a convoy chasing Max and company on the road it would be said that Max is a "Road Warrior," when it comes to the action as Joe catches up with the group and with some of the best action near the end of the film makes it worth it when the film is wrapping up.

BOTTOM LINE

If your in the mood for some fast pace road action then I suggest Mad Max:Fury Road for you. With it's action sequences and dark story telling about survival in a post apocalypse wasteland Mad Max is a film that has it's fast pace moments and slow moments and come back at you hard at the end of the film with some good old action.

With crazy characters and a supporting cast that shines with moments when you don't expect it and with a strong female lead and a dark brood main character I can watch this film over again which is rare for me to watch a movie more then a couple of times,I say buy it or go rent it if you haven't yet.

The Stars of the Disturbing Assembled Footage Film “Infliction” available now for Interviews

NEW YORK, NY (September 23, 2014) – Virgil Films & Entertainment today announced that the stars of “Infliction”, Jason Mac, Elliott Armstrong, Ana Shaw, and Catherine Trail, are now available for interviews. The controversial film “Infliction” has been released in the U.S. and Canada on DVD, VOD, and Digital HD. Produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker Jack Thomas Smith, whose last feature film “Disorder” was released by Universal/Vivendi and Warner Brothers, “Infliction” is a dark and disturbing assembled footage film that documents two brothers’ 2011 murder spree in NC and the horrific truth behind their actions.

“Working on ‘Infliction’ left me troubled and haunted,” says Jack Thomas Smith. “It left me thinking about people’s actions or lack thereof and the inevitable domino effect. We all walk our own path in life, which shapes and defines us. What happens to us today, good or bad, will affect generations to come. The stars of ‘Infliction’ did an amazing job bringing these tortured characters to life and it was an honor to work with them.”

“Infliction” is available at FYE stores, Walmart.com, iTunes, Amazon, Columbia House, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, CD Universe, Family Video, Google Play, Vudu, Cinema Now, Vimeo OnDemand, Netflix queue, and other online retailers.

Earlier this year, “Infliction” opened in select theaters across the country. Additional screenings have been scheduled this fall due to demand at the PA Fantom Fest in Scranton, PA; the Chiller Theatre Expo in Parsippany, NJ; Lake Hopatcong, NJ; Union, NJ; and the Days of the Dead convention in Chicago, IL.

“Infliction” is now being represented for international distribution by the foreign sales agency Cardinal XD and will be available at all of the major film markets around the world, including the Toronto Film Festival; the American Film Market in Santa Monica, CA; Sundance; the Berlin Film Festival; and Cannes.
