Devil May Cry franchise has come a long way in depths of game play. The franchise was developed by Capcom back in 2001 which was originally going to be the fourth "Resident Evil" game in that franchise.Developer Hideki Kamiya took a second look at the project and decided to lay down new ground for what became "Devil May Cry." Devil May Cray was released on the PlayStation 2 Console and was a hit with gamers.
The series went on to sell over 13 million copies and spawned comic books, anime series, novels and much other collectibles as well.
The game series continued on with Devil May Cry 2 which was released in 2003 on the PlayStation 2.It featured two disc with playable character Lucia on the second disc.
Devil May Cry 3:Dante's Awakening was released in 2005 that served as a prequel to the first two games and was later re-released as Devil May Cry 3:Dante's Awakening Special Edition with a new story and a new playable character (Vergil) added as well.
Devil May Cry 4 came out in 2008 for the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 consoles with a new lead charactor Nero with Dante making a apperance here and there throughout the game.
The game play as in depths with the four titles changed little by little with each release as each game evolved into something gamers loved or hated in the series. You have the combo system where you can juggle a enemy in the air for a amount of time pulling off some sick combos. With Melee attacks and with gun attacks a lot of the combo's seamed endless.Players managed to do as they pleased with each combo they can come up with to kill the enemy or enemy's that stood in front of them.
Capcon was gearing up for something when they decided to release Devil May Cry HD Collection of the first three games together for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with cut scenes presented in HD quality. This was a perfect opportunity for those who missed out on the first three games a chance to play them on their current system.
DMC DEVIL MAY CRY 2013 REMAKE
Capcom decided it was time to bring life back into the franchise by involving Ninja Theory to remake Devil May Cry.So it was done and Dante got a face lift and so was the whole game itself. The story from the first game mostly changed a bit and was made into a remake for today's teen and it did away with most of what fans have grown to love with Devil May Cry. Dante was a hipster with a foul mouth now instead of a wise cracking Demon hunter as we all once knew.
The mechanics was changed for more of a style game play with weapons and little gun play that was used in the previous games.Did fans buy into this new Dante? Yes and No would be the answer from both sides.I personally wasn't for it,but after I got my hands on a copy, I did like what Ninja Theory did with most of the new combo system. It took me awhile to get down and I was pulling off combos that I only wished I could have done with the previous games.
